![]() ![]() ![]() The story wraps up oddly quickly around the 15 hour mark, and the RPG builds have a sort of overly simple point allocation mechanic that requires very little thought as you play. The biggest issue is it all feels a bit streamlined. The companions were very memorable, and the individual worlds and quest lines did not overstay their welcome. Who you choose to tutor your son will affect your gameplay decisions hours later when you now rule as that son. The best part is you don’t 100% control the traits, strengths and weakness you and your line will have, it’s like life - it’s still random chance. It’s more of a “royal lineage RPG” than a true strategy game, which I loved. This is a game that I could play indefinitely forever. Simultaneously a love letter to Fez, The Witness, 2D Zelda and the 16-bit era in general. Went in expecting cutesy indie Zelda and walked out with one of the best “Metroid-brainia” experiences I’ve ever had. Was late to this series but this game has aged so well and I couldn’t put it down start to finish. I loved the campaign and the multiplayer and the weapon sandbox/gameplay feel is my favorite in the series.
